Book your consult
First things first, get in touch with our team to book your first consult. As mentioned, this consult is completely free. We will discuss your health history, current areas of concern, and why you have decided to explore alternative medicine in Brisbane. If eligible, we will then set you up with our patient portal so that you can access more information around your prescription and organise further follow-ups with your doctor. We will then share your prescription with our partner pharmacy in Brisbane. You have the option to either pick it up yourself (from our partner pharmacy in Strathpine, Queensland), or we offer fast delivery across Queensland.

Eligibility will be determined by one of our AHPRA-registered doctors during the initial consultation. We do have a free eligibility quiz where you can get some insight into whether you may be appropriate for alternative healthcare, but this is just a guide. During your initial consultation, the doctor will ask you about your current areas of concern, your symptoms, your medical history, and any current medications to determine if Leaf Doctors is suitable.
Is alternative medicine legal in Queensland? keyboard_arrow_down
Yes, it has been legal in Australia since 2016. Queensland does not have an amnesty, so a legal prescription must be provided by an approved doctor, and dispensed by an approved pharmacy.
AHPRA-registered practitioners and registered prescribers who follow Australian professional standards set by the Medical Board of Australia and the therapeutic goods regulation are able to provide guidance and prescriptions for alternative medicine.
In Queensland, there are strict laws around driving on some prescribed medicines. It’s an offence to drive with certain substances present, even if it has not impaired or affected your driving. You can discuss this in more detail with your doctor.

No, you do not need a referral from a GP or any other medical practitioner. You will be speaking to Australian-based AHPRA-registered doctors who will take a holistic approach to your healthcare. What if I get tested at work? keyboard_arrow_down
Many of our Queensland patients work in mining, resources, transport, and construction, or settings where workplace testing is involved. Workplace drug and alcohol testing is not governed by law, which means a prescription won’t necessarily override your employer’s policies. During your consultation your doctor can discuss the treatment and how it may relate to workplace testing.
